Computerspielemuseum Berlin
Chat.txt
A playful exhibition format where object chats, branching paths, and small games come together directly in the interface.
With Chat.txt, the Computerspielemuseum translates its collection into a format that fits the institution: playful, interactive, and driven by choices. Visitors can plan a date with an object before the museum visit, move through the exhibition during the visit, and return to those encounters afterwards.
What makes this project special
- Exhibits show clear attitudes: some react humorously, others grumpily, confidently, or more reserved.
- How conversations develop depends directly on the user’s decisions. The app deliberately works with branching dialogues.
- The format can be used before, during, and after the museum visit: for planning, orientation, and follow-up.
- Didactics and a sense of play merge in one shared interface, perfectly suited to the museum’s collection.
- A special twist: small games like Snake were integrated directly into the app, strengthening the format’s playful character.
